Au-what? If you're black you've probably had this conversation with your family. There's a uniqueness, a culture, an exclusive experience we live being black. There is no exception when it comes to au pairing. This meaning your host family always being curious about your ever-changing hair and also hearing the occasional "you're so dark" comment.


What do I do with my hair?

Can I walk around in a bonnet?

How racist are they... really?
